*Required Listening*

Usually I find most of the songs on "Christian radio" a bit cheesy, no offense, but this is an excellent song about the role of husbands and fathers. Listen up, guys!

#2 - Not all girls are the same

Believe it or not, there is no one label that applies to every girl. Sure, there are some general definitions that may end up applying to most of the women you know, but beyond the fact that we're all chock full of Estrogen and other female hormones, you cannot fit all girls into one category. Not even “loves chocolate” defines all of us, as Kaylla has proved.  For every rule there are always exceptions, deviants, crossovers, rule breakers and free spirits. The fear of becoming a stereotype, as well as our natural individuality, leads us to almost urgently demonstrate our differences to the world. So the second thing that every guy needs to know is this: that not all girls are the same.

The two most broad labels for girls are tomboy and girly-girl. Within each of these there are sub-labels. "Athletic", "Techhie", "Cowgirl", etc. all fall under the tomboy label. Tomboys are generally a bit more rough-and-tumble, especially when it comes to appearance, while girly-girl implies more "traditional", feminine women. Tomboys really like their action movies, while girly-girls are all for chick flicks/romantic dramas. Girly-girl sub-labels include "Preppy", "Cheerleader" and "Romantic". Then there are the in-betweeners -- which might mean those of us that simply consider ourselves to have a little bit of both. We love Bourne just as much as we love Jane Austen, we like our blue jeans and sweatpants just as much as a nice blouse or cute skirt. Other in-betweeners can be those that just don't really fit in either category at all, like "Nerds", "Hippies" and "General Weirdos" (which are all awesome things to be:D).

If nothing else, the one thing that you should really take from this post is that no girl wants to be treated like just another regular person, more of the same old thing. You should never expect a girl to act like every other female you've ever met. Whether it's immediately apparent or you have to do a little digging, she's special, unique, one-of-a-kind -- and she wants you to notice it.

#1 - Girls are WIRED

Everyone knows that females have one more rib than men (at least you should and if you didn't know that - they do). There are many physical differences other than this one...we're going to start with the BRAIN. Yes, women are not WEIRD, but the are WIRED differently.

In the science of the brain there is a separation between the left and right sides of the brain. Nerves connect the two sides, but physically women have better connection between the two. Their brains are constantly sending signals to either side, making it possible for them to do things like talk on the phone, cook dinner and calm the crying child - all at the same time. It's what enables them to multi-task. However . . . boys are not wired quite the same.

Imagine a room full of boxes. This is the boys brain. He moves from one topic to the next Some boxes are small and some are VERY large, BUT - you can only have one box open at a time. Women don't have any boxes, they may have shelving to help keep things slightly organized but their room is all flowing one topic into another, everything connects somehow with something else.

This is a blessing - it helps them become wonderful mothers. Without this dinner would be burned, that phone call may end in tears and the baby would still be crying. A man's unique room of boxes helps him to focus and stay with priorities such as work and providing for a family.

There are, as always, exceptions but for the most part this is one of the many differences between a male and female brain. Some men are able to multi-task and some women's brains are like rooms full of boxes - it's all unique and individual.

So men, remember that she ISN'T a man, she can't help but think 100mph and it's something that you can love about her - she can do things that you simply can't do. Gotta love her!

So now - take that and hope you apply! Remember, women are WIRED not WEIRD!
